The Rocket football team fell to Clearwater, 22-18, in the opening game of the season on Friday, September 4.

The Indians got off to a quick start with a field goal and touchdown in the first half and ultimately led 22-0 in the fourth quarter.

The Rockets finally got on the board with the first of Tyce Carlson’s three touchdowns early in the fourth quarter. Carlson found Dalton Rapp from 82 yards out. Rapp scored the final touchdown of the game–sandwiched in between was a touchdown by Braden Geer–from 34 yards out.

With a few seconds left in the game, Rose Hill did not recover the onside kick and the game was over.

Carlson finished 20-33 for 378 yards, while Rapp caught eight balls for 189 yards.

The Rockets are home again Friday against Collegiate.
