The Rockets Cross Country teams had their second race on Saturday, September 14 at Wamego Country Club for the Wellington invitational. The team placed 10th, with a 23:12 average time.
“The course is always a tough course but it is always an intense race that gets you going when you have great competition to run against,” said Kimberlin Lovell
The Rockets best runner for the boys was Sam Lovell, who took 57th, and ran a time of 18:53.28. The best runner for the Lady Rockets was Lovell, with a time of 21:29.44 and took 18th.
“While I wish my time was a lot better, I’m going to work each week to drop it lower and lower to get to the goal I have set. Overall I can’t be upset with my time, but only feel proud,” said Lovell.
Up next for the Rockets is the Wichita East invitational, on Saturday, September 21.
