Science teacher Roger Grier announced he was retiring and English teacher Natalie Page will also be departing. Grier has been at Rose Hill for 19 years and has spent 23 years in education.
“I’m looking forward very much to my retirement from teaching, and then onto my third career,” Grier said. “Not exactly certain what that will look like, but will most likely involve my current part-time activities of farming, ranching, and construction.”
Grier has also been in charge of the Green Club and plans on staying involved in many other community services after retirement. Since starting up the Green Club, they have won many accolades including the Kansas Green School of the Year award, from KDHE and KCAEE.
“The activities while sponsoring and building up our Green Club from a grassroots effort will have the most gratifying and lasting memories for me,” Grier said.
Grier plans on continuing many hobbies after retirement. Besides being able to stay home more and continue to be with family, Grier plans on staying involved with all of his part time activities and calls it his third career.
“Being home every night and basically having nearly four months off throughout the year, has allowed me the time to participate and enjoy many of the other interests and commitments I have,” Grier said “I have also appreciated getting to know so many students, parents, and other staff members over the many years.”
