With a new school year comes new leadership. The 2025 Student Council Executives are prepared to take on many challenges, create new opportunities, and help students make long lasting memories throughout the year.
The 2025 executives are Josie Palmer (President), Emersyn Herod (Vice President), Braxton Frazier (Treasurer) and Jocelyn Davis (Secretary).
“My focus stepping into this role was to bring more energy and excitement to the student body,” said Palmer.
Palmer has noticed that in previous years Rose Hill High School has lacked school spirit. She has many ideas for this school year to ensure an increase in school spirit.
A lot comes with holding such a high position in Student Council. Palmer has expressed that her main challenge this year is balancing everyone’s opinions. With a large group it can be hard to accommodate everyone’s point of view.
“Another challenge could be keeping students engaged and excited throughout the whole school year,” said Palmer.
Palmer plans to overcome these challenges by interacting with all students to ensure they are being heard. She wants everyone to have a voice in the choices being made.
As Vice President, Herod feels it is her main priority to make sure everyone is included as well as oversee the assigned committees so everything is getting done on time.
“My position in STUCO affects the students and staff by trying to bring everyone together by having fun at school to increase school spirit,” said Emersyn Herod, Vice President.
Something fun that STUCO organizes is planning fun activities for the students to participate in during homecoming week. Herod has created her own tradition to dress up as the Lorax for character day. She hopes her involvement inspires students to be more involved and participate in these fun activities.
“That week (homecoming) honestly brings me so much joy with everything that is going on,” said Herod.
