Rose Hill High School just finished up with phase one of their renovations and one of the most exciting of these being the new Facs room.
The Facs room was built with the school in around 1994, and had never been remodeled before – aside from the occasional replacement of an oven or microwave.
Facs teacher, Becki Evans, was thrilled to be able to see something new after such a long time of looking at the same things.
“Everything, the layout, the furniture, the windows, the flooring,” said Evans, of the renovations.
The whole setup of the room has changed with the kitchens now on the opposite side of the room. Along with a new demonstration kitchen with a camera so everyone in the room can see.
Evans had one particular aspect of her new room she enjoys the most.
“The new flooring and cabinets,” Evans said. “The old ones were rough and tired looking.”
There is good and not so good in every project, the big question Evans got from her students was; where will we sew?
“We will figure it out,” Evans said.
