I’ve been in the Rose Hill School District my whole life. Some of my earliest memories are when the seniors would come down every year and read with us, lead cheer clinics, and spend time with us.
And when they would walk through the school at the end of the year and wave at you you felt like the most important kid.
Now that I’m in my final year at school I have a deeper respect for all the seniors who would take time out of their day for us. So when I got into high school I wanted to join as many clubs as possible and be a senior that the younger kids look up to.
Senior year is something every kid looks forward to. It’s when you’re at the top of the school and have the most freedom. It’s also the most hectic year because of deadlines for colleges, scholarships, and making sure that you attend all the senior activities to make the most out of your final year.
To make the most out of my senior year I’m involved in three clubs and I am a cheerleader for football and basketball. I go to almost every event the school is hosting so as to not miss out, and I’ll go to my job in my free time. I know that all the chaos this year is going to pay off in the end when I have amazing memories with my teachers and friends.
It’s very cliche but high school was the best four years of my life so far and I’m confident that it will stay like that as I get older. But there are a lot of things I’m going to miss about Rose Hill and being in school. I’m going to miss being able to go get lunch with friends when we don’t have class, talking with teachers who have become friends, and being in classes with kids who I’ve grown up with.
Time has always moved fast for me. When I was young I could hardly wait to be in high school and now that I’m here I can’t even imagine graduating college and having to go be a grown up all on my own.
But the last thing I’m going to miss about high school is getting dressed and ready for graduation, and being in the same room as all my classmates one last time.
