Band program receives award
On October 1, the music programs at Rose Hill High School were awarded the 500 dollar Excellence in Education Award by Charlie’s Car Wash. This grant is awarded five times a year to an individual school or school program.
“We appreciate what you are doing for the youth in our community and want to publicly acknowledge your school and the vocal & band music program,” said Kelli Barhart, the Director of Communications for Charlie’s Car Wash.
Usually Charlie’s Car Wash would come out to their awarded school to conduct a check ceremony with photos but the pandemic, yet again, stopped these plans abruptly.
“Rose Hill was selected for this money because of its longstanding commitment to providing quality music and entertainment at community events,” says Nathanael Hills, the teacher of instrumental music here at Rose Hill High School. “Currently, we are planning to upgrade the sound system in the high school band room.”
