The USD 394 school board approved the calendar for the next school year at the board meeting on February 12. Below are some important dates:

• The first day of school is Wednesday, August 14
• Fall conferences are October 17 and 18
• Thanksgiving break is a full week – November 25 through the 29
• Winter break starts on December 23 and runs through January 3
• Spring conferences are February 27 and 28 
• Spring break is March 14 through the 21
• The last day for seniors is Wednesday, May 14
• Graduation is Sunday, May 17
• The last day of school for all students is the Wednesday, May 20

“The most notable change from previous years is the extended break during the week of Thanksgiving,” said Matt Browning, who was on the calendar committee. “We gave the district staff two options to vote on and the one that did not win had a very similar calendar to this year’s. But the extra time over the week of Thanksgiving will be a nice change.”
