On January 24, the FBLA team traveled to Udall for their annual District competition. The team had two groups place in the top ten for Website Design and Introduction to Business Presentation, and two others placed individually in the Business Communications and Economics tests.
Seniors Alexa Marshall and Ethan Brooks along with junior Kimberlin Lovell competed in the Website Design competition and placed third, five points away from first place. Website Design is a category where they give a specific topic and the students create a website based upon the topic. The group created a project about how to raise money for children and families who can’t afford sports during the spring and fall.
“Participating in FBLA for the past few years has given lots of opportunities for us to learn and grow as both students and people,” said Marshall. “Our group’s performance this season in Website Design gave us the chance to learn more about our community, while allowing us to express our creativity through digital design.”
Sophomores Dakota Snook and Natalie Hernandez with Freshman Ethan Hayes had the topic Introduction to Business Presentation and placed third and they were only three points away from placing first place.
“Coming into FBLA I would not have thought I would have had as much fun as I did,” Snook said. “I can’t wait for the upcoming season.”
Juniors Nathan Jones and Tarissa Barry opted to take tests instead with the tests being Business Communications and Economics. Both took tenth place in their events.
