A crew will be starting on the inside of the Rose Hill High School right after the students walk out the doors as the renovations from the bond issue begin.
“As soon as you guys are walking out the door, we’re tearing up the place. All at the same time,” said Superintendent Chuck Lambert.
The school is being broken up into sections to complete, so that everything can be accomplished as efficiently as possible. And the hope, of course, is that the beginning of school isn’t pushed back.
“We met with the construction team yesterday,” said High School Principal Aaron Jackson. “They plan on starting the refurbishing project late next week, after the students are gone.”
The new FACS room is the biggest classroom change that’s happening. The crew should be starting at the latest on May 27th, and they are going to completely flip the room on its head. All other classes should have the same layout but the FACS room won’t even be recognizable. Also starting on the 27th are the hallways. The first one to be touched is the Spanish, English, and History hallways.
“The new FACS room will begin at the latest May 27th,” said Jackson. “The 200 hallway will begin May 27th.”
On the 29th they will start working on the office and new entrance which is going to be the biggest change happening. The new entrance will be focusing on safety for students and staff, and improving the general look of the school.
“The office and front entrance is set to start on May 29th,” Jackson said.
The 300 rooms, which is the Science and Math hallway, will start on June 6th, and the 400 rooms, which are art and technology classrooms, will start on the 16th.
The last things to be started are the flooring. There will be new flooring in every classroom, hallway, and closet.
“Hallway flooring removal will begin July 7th and installing new flooring on July 22nd,” said Jackson.
